Loving this sofa shown on the Alice Lane blog. Pillows included. Maybe I'll add this to my Christmas wish list-though I have a feeling the shoes may be a bit more realistic :)

House Beautiful

Dying over these rooms... this last issue of House Beautiful is good...really, really good.

I stopped by Ikea this last weekend to get my usual napkins, hangers, and Sweedish sparkling pear juice (delish) and saw this mobile... I'm not sure what I think of it yet but it reminds me that Ikea is a great place to start out when you're on a budget. What an impact this would make in a children's room- all the shapes and patterns on the ceiling and wall!

Gotta have it

I am dying to paint my office walls a dark, rich color. Maybe this one- Drawing Room Blue by Farrow and Ball.

These fabrics would really set it off. (If you haven't noticed- I'm obsessed with a blue/green color combination :))

Or do I keep it neutral and go for a smoky grey? Railings by Farrow and Ball
This is the constant battle when decorating my own home - I love a pop of bold color and pattern in a room but also love the tone on tone, subtle look. I am drawn to both, love both and am working on finding a combination of the two in my home that suits me.

Getting ready for fall

Jumping the gun a little on this one considering we still have almost a month to go before fall and it's still in the high 90's around here, but I am soooo ready for it. The cover of the most recent J Crew catalog got me in the spirit...

And loving these types of spaces right now... preppy. cozy. dark, rich colors.

Good finds from PB

Usually I flip through the Pottery Barn catalog quickly, put it aside, and forget about it until the next one comes. But I just looked through the new one today and am loving their Vanessa Floral collection in blue!

And love these glass candleholders. I have to remind myself I already have clear acrylic chairs around the dining table and adding more "clear" accessories would be overkill. But I love them! Also I'm liking these Carmen shams- possibly paired with the Vanessa floral- yum!

I can hardly wait...

I am a freak over anything John Derian and I absolutely cannot wait for his Target collection to be online September 5th! I will probably snatch a few pieces up but honestly I am still hoping to put a few of the real deals up in the house somewhere.

Two of my besties are getting married this fall and I am SO excited!! Even though they both have their invitations and other plans well underway I cannot help but still stalk the wedding sites. These came from Once Wed- aren't they fun?

I was so happy when I saw this photo, here, because it was love at first sight. This has all the elements I look for in a space. Classic pieces, a mix of texture and pattern, splash of color, touch of glam, comfort, and we can't forget the crystal doorknob! Oh and that high gloss blue door is perfection!

The designer is Kristen Hutchins. She has worked for Ruthie Sommers and Kelly Wearstler- no wonder she is amazing.

I just finished reading the last issue of Lonny and was inspired by Ellie Sommerville's bedroom. She used an Ikea rug that I'm sure I've passed by a million times and never gave a second look. The color combos in this room are also fantastic- love the muted blues paired with the bright colors in the rug and I always love a touch of pink mixed in with red.

But the page that really caught my eye was this one...
Where can I find that bag asap? :)

My love for Lilac

I just can't get enough of this color and basically any variation of purple in general! I've been staring at Anna Kohler's bathroom (and apartment) for months and that just may have sparked the obsession. Check out this wallpaper-absolutely to die for!
